We are located in
SE KS along the Neosho River. All of our hunting ground is privately owned
property that holds some big trophy bucks. With over 3000 acres in Labette,
Cherokee, and Crawford counties we can keep you in an area that has not been
pressured.
The habitat of the farms we hunt is very
diverse. We have bottomland fields
with
thick draws and woodlots, hardwood White Oak Ridges, and thick overgrown
brushy pastures. Not to forget, we also have the unique and famous strip
pits. All of this area has the highest deer population in the entire state.
Kansas has more 160 P&Y bucks in the books than any other state.
Our
deer have the best genetics and all the food they need. We supplement with
feeders and summer and winter foodplots. All it takes to raise B&C
bucks is age! As an example in 2005, we watched a buck all summer only to
find him dead that winter. A sad end to a buck we were trying to kill. This
buck was only 4 yrs old and he officially scored 198 4/8.
When
you come hunting with us you can be assured we will do everything we can to
make your hunt a success. You will stay with us in our house and eat at our
kitchen table. We are just a small family outfitter that makes for a
relaxing trip. While hunting with Iron Gate Lodge you are just one of the
family.
